Simply put, TolumiDE (toe-LU-me-day) is an incredibly talented recording artist. With her African flair and inspirational musical stylings, she exudes a finesse and an energy rarely seen in World music. A unique heritage that includes Nigeria and Canada, TolumiDE, her stage name a collaboration of her first name Tolu and her last Olumide, which means “Thank you God” in her native language of Yoruba, she has a music ministry with sprinklings of Urban Pop, Classic Soul, Afro-Jazz, Funk, Reggae and Contemporary Gospel. The recipient of the coveted Nigeria Entertainment Award for Best Female R&B Artist, she’s already been recognized in the Motherland as one of the brightest music stars of the day. With dynamic and audience grabbing performances, TolumiDE has gained new fans and rave reviews for her debut EP Specialty in 2008.

Early music beginnings started for the female vocalist TolumiDE growing up in Lagos and singing with church choirs and school cultural groups. Shortly after a move to Toronto, to pursue undergraduate studies, she joined Women Ah Run Tings all-female band and gained immeasurable performance experience including nominations Canadian Reggae Music Awards.

TolumiDE got her big break as a solo artist after relocating to the states and releasing her debut full length album and accompanying Music Video, for the title track ‘My Love’ directed by Tayo Abereoje from Black Royal Pictures which received rotation on MTV base Africa and numerous Urban television media in Africa, Europe and the United States, and earned many award recognitions including a Channel O Music Video Awards (South Africa) Most Gifted RnB nomination.

Going beyond the success of her releases; Specialty (2008) and My Love (2010) in Valentines 2012, BET International 106 & Park exclusively premiered 'For me'music video, the lead single from forthcoming release. By spring, the nationally distributed single ‘For Me' peaked at #42 on Music Choice (R&B/Soul) charts, #32 at Top Indie Charts and #85 at National airplay top 100 Digital Radio Tracker Charts. TolumiDE’s follow up single & music video release “More Than You'll Ever Know” – featured award winning Ghanaian Hip Hop artist, D-Black - Da Ghana Bwouy, BET's Best International Act: Africa Award Nominee. A sultry love song declaring true love ‘Me Do Wo’, in the midst of common challenges couples face every day.

TolumiDE’s Performance repertoire continues to soar locally and internationally as a solo act with her band of musicians at a number events hosted by Non-profits, Educational Institutes, Government Agencies and Embassies, Festivals, Conferences, Church, Jazz Lounges and Private events. Most recent releases include a 2016 Grammy ballot listing for the soulful single - Colours of Life and a Garden Theater soundtrack feature for the African highlife song Oya! from Heartbeat The musical.

Currently in production for her next studio album, TolumiDE continues to share her message of Love & Culture while expanding on the fusion of Urban Contemporary Soul, Inspiration and African music genres for old and new audiences. She continues to serve the DMV community as a member of the non-profit Afropolitan Youth Association and the Entertainment Director for FestAfrica, the largest African Cultural festival in Maryland and is also a Grammy voting member.
