Growing up in southern California wasn't easy for Micah: he felt left out and different because he was effeminate and cared more about music than sports. On his fifth birthday, a family friend gifted him LeAnn Rimes' Blue. That album gave him solace and helped him discover his passion for country and folk music. He began taking music lessons, listening to artists like Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Dolly Parton, and Lauryn Hill and realized that he wanted to be a performer. After graduating from the LA County High School for the Arts, he moved to Boston to study music. It was there he discovered his passion for songwriting, honed his craft and found his voice. He considers his music an Americana blend of pop, soul and country: focusing on how the lyrics of a song tell a story that can connect people and incite change.

Since his move to Brooklyn, he has performed at some of the most iconic NYC venues including The Bowery Electric, Rockwood Music Hall, Fat Baby, and The Bitter End. After seeing one of his performances, The New York Post named him "Brooklyn's New Star!" and Micah was offered a residency at the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo where he has had the opportunity to perform in front of artists like Shania Twain, Jake Owen, Shawn Mendes, Solange, and Travis Tritt.
